Gabriel Gîţan is studying piano and organ at the Bucharest National Music Academy. He has gained experience from different masterclasses of excellent musicians like Constantin Sandu, Adrian Suciu, Wolfgang Manz, Caterina Vivarelii, Tamás Vesmás or Vlad Dimulescu, and also participated in the improvisation masterclass of the great organ player, Steffen Schlandt.
Gîţan performed in many important stages in Romania and abroad. Moreover, he achieved remarkable results in national and international competitions: in 2013 he won the 2nd prize at the French Ville de Gagny International Competition, and in 2017 the jury of the Hungarian Music Festival, which was organized by the Balassi Institute – the Hungarian Institute of Bucharest, rewarded him with a Lajos Bács memorial prize. This year, the young pianist received the 1st prize of the Hungarian Music Festival, for the excellent performance of Liszt’s Sonata in B minor.
