Robin Ashenden has been living and working in Central and Eastern Europe for the better part of 20 years, and writing about it - for publications like Sunday Times Travel, Wanderlust and The Guardian - for the better part of a decade. He has an MA in Travel Writing about the Soviet Union, and in 2009 was the recipient of a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Writers' Grant, to travel in and write about the post-communist countries of Central Europe. He founded CEEL in May 2014, and since then has published 500 articles on CEE topics, by over 50 contributors. In 2016 he was producer and compere at the first two CEEL events - Chornobyl 30 and Hungary 60, at London's Frontline Club. He is now a Phd student in Creative Writing at UEA, writing a six-part TV-drama about the USSR.More posts from Robin Ashenden
